It is our pleasure to introduce the heart and soul of Shumbalala Game Lodge. At Shumbalala we value everyone, mostly you as our guest but also every member of the team. Some will become very familiar to you and then some will be making your stay memorable by working behind the scenes which is equally important.
Meet the Team
Front of House
I have had the amazing privilege of being able to grow up in the bush since I was a small child.
I have always had a love and respect for nature and the animals.
I love working with people and am in the fortune position of being able to serve people every day.
I have not always been in the tourism industry, although my family has been involved in hospitality for as long as I can remember and it has always been a part of our lives.
Growing up in the tourism industry has taught me to put others first and to serve with a happy heart which I love living here at Shumbalala Game Lodge.
I look forward to serving you!
Front of House
I grew up all over south African and worked at several lodges and hotels all over South Africa.
I have been in the tourism industry for 5 years and I absolutely love what I do.
I spent 2 years working on the Rovos Rails Train and managed to travel some African countries.
Working at Shumbalala is such a privilege because I love being in the bush and I love animals.
My passion is serving people and ensuring that they get to experience Shumbalala Game Lodge and the African bush in the best way possible.
I look forward to meeting all our future guests and making their stay memorable here at Shumbalala Game Lodge.
I grew up on the South Coast of South Africa.
I have been working as a Ranger for the past 5 years, all of which were spent in Zulu Land.
It has been my main aim to work in the Lowveld since I started guiding.
I love the bush and greatly enjoy all the spectacular sightings that Thornybush has to offer.
I mostly enjoy birding and reptiles, and look forward to teaching my guest more about these as they are often overlooked when looking for larger game.
I am very privileged to live out my passion here at Shumbalala Game Lodge and I look forward to spending time with our guests in the bush and sharing my knowledge with them.
I started dreaming about becoming a chef after my mother instilled in me a love for baking while growing up.
After school I started my first job at other game reserves where I worked my way up from a scullery girl to waiter and eventually assisting in the kitchen and learning from the chefs in a hands-on manner.
Baking is my passion and I hope to become a master chef one day!
Shumbalala Game Lodge feels like home, it is where I belong and where I hope to be serving you someday.
I was born in Buffelshoek and joined the Shumbalala team in 2013. I enjoy surprising guests with my mouthwatering dishes and attention to detail. I am not scared to cater for any guest's needs and do it with a lot of passion. I always provide five star service with a smile. My favorite and most popular dishes are curries, oxtail and lamb shank.
I was born and raised in Acornhoek in the Mpumalanga Province. As a young boy I was a cattle minder and decided I wanted to do more with my life.
I went to a field school at Londolozi Game Reserve where I was trained as a tracker.
From there I worked at several well known game reserves before coming to work at Shumbalala.
My job is my passion, I really love it and look forward to a great future here!
