Now and then, we hear from a guest who has been fortunate enough to witness one. Danielle, who stayed with us in 2022, was among the lucky few. Most pangolins moving through this landscape are just that — wild, free, and wonderfully elusive. But...
Ending off the year on a high note
As we approach the end of this year, it is with great gratitude that we look back at 2022. We have so much to be thankful for here at Shumbalala Game Lodge.
The past few years have been particularly challenging in the travel industry, and we are encouraged to see that people are back, traveling, exploring and enjoying every single minute of their African adventures! Instead of collecting things, travellers seem to be grabbing every opportunity to accumulate precious moments and memories. This is wonderful for us, because sharing this special place with you is our greatest pleasure.
We appreciate every single guest that has stayed with us this year. It has been truly wonderful to welcome so many return guests and to make new friends of first-time visitors. Thanks to you, we have been able to support our team and their families back home. The Shumbalala Game Lodge family has also grown this year, and we’re pleased to have Benny, Carey-Lynne, Fortunate and Dave onboard.
As we look forward to 2023, we wish you a wonderful holiday season. May the New Year be filled with adventure, and may you make many happy new memories on your travels!
Thank you for being part of this journey and for your continued support. We hope to welcome you back to Shumbalala Game Lodge this coming year.

Here's to a happy, healthy and successful 2023!

The vehicle slows. Your guide eases off the main track. The engine clicks softly as it cools. And the sounds of the wild return in full — birds calling, insects ticking through the...
